Watiya Tjuta (Mulga Tree)

ARTWORK STORY

Debra spent many years painting beside her mother in law, Mitjili Napurrula (deceased 2019) whose Mulga Tree story is internationally acclaimed. Debra became custodian of Mitjili's stories when she died. This painting depicts significant elements referring to Uwalki country – Mitjili's homeland around Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff) west of Alice Springs in Central Australia. The wood from the watiya tjuta (desert oak) is used to hand carve spears, artefacts and ceremonial objects associated with men's business. In this painting Debra's pays homage to the desert oak which serves many purposes.    

ABOUT OUR ART PRINTS 

All Art prints are printed in house, on either quality fine art cotton rag 280gsm matte finish paper or 380gsm Canvas using archival, pigment inks.  The quality of our prints are guaranteed across the offered sizes, no pixilation or other faults, only beautiful colours and textures.

BORDER INFORMATION

PAPER PRINTS

You can choose to print your photo-art with a white border (no print area) or no border (image printed to the edge). We recommend no border if you have chosen a readymade frame with a matboard (border) insert.

CANVAS PRINTS

Canvas prints automatically have “no border” option applied.  Borders are not available for canvas prints, unless specifically requested.

FRAMING INFO 

All frames are hand crafted in house and made with care in Henley Beach, South Australia. You can choose from many different frame colours and finishes and if you can’t find something you like contact us before finalising your purchase to arrange a customised option. We use 45% UV Clear glass for paper prints as our standard offering, anti-reflective glass available on request.  We also have framers Acrylic 45% UV Clear which is used when shipped interstate/overseas.  All materials used in the process are acid free to ensure it lasts a lifetime.  All frames are ready to hang, installation available upon request.

SHIPPING 

All unframed prints are rolled and shipped in a protective tube within 2-3 business days from your purchase. All framed art prints are packed securely and will be posted to you within 7-10 business days. Free shipping applies to all orders over $100 Australia wide. Shipping rates will be calculated at the check-out.  Local Pick up available at 107 Marlborough St, Henley Beach during business hours or on appointment.  We can ship internationally on request.
