The first light of day across Country, the changing light reflecting movement, possibility and new journey ahead. The pelicans, are a totem from my Grandfather’s Ngarrindjeri Country - hold a sense of family, connection and belonging, while

Yarta-puulti connects me to my Grandmother’s Kaurna Country and to home.

Painting this before leaving Australia, the work reflects the feeling that wherever we travel, we carry home within us - through family, Counrty, memory and connection. Home remains with us, even as we move towards somewhere new.
